Summing up 2022: A huge growth in the donations given to Jerusalem

The Jerusalem Foundation raised more than 50 million dollars for the benefit of the entire population of the city

The 2022 fundraising year at the Jerusalem Foundation has been a huge success, with considerable growth in the amount of donations. These donations were able to aid in both construction projects as well as educational and cultural projects happening throughout every part of the city.

Some of the construction projects included the building of the first public sports center in east Jerusalem in the Beit Hanina neighborhood; the completion of the entrance to Hebrew Union College; the dedication of the Abraham B. Polinsky Vocational Training Center; the improvement of the Charles Clore Park in the Valley of the Cross; and the establishment of school libraries in east Jerusalem.

On the educational and cultural side, the Jerusalem Foundation was vital in supporting ‘SidraTarbut (cultural events in neighborhoods with funding from the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation); the Jerusalem Tolerance Coalition; Kayma—the George Pinto Jerusalem Leadership Fellows Program; and the new SAHI gap year program.

The Jerusalem Foundation also supported dozens of projects in other realms, including: promoting entrepreneurial ventures through the Keren Lee fund – from the Foundation’s Israeli donors; the Israel Story Podcast with its ‘Stories from Jerusalem’ evenings; the establishment of a recording studio for the podcast; massive investments in STEM instruction in the Haredi sector and so many more projects.
