About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation established the Leo Hofmann Senior Citizens’ Center in 1984 to provide health services, social welfare guidance and activities to senior citizens in the Katamonim neighborhoods. The center, an annex to the Gonen Community Center, includes club rooms, a kitchen, doctors, nurses and social workers’ offices, a physiotherapy room and a workshop. The Jerusalem Foundation supported renovation of the center in 1996 and has supported many activities at the center over the years, including preventive health care, counseling, hot meals and cultural programs, as well as the Joseph & Olga Szego Program for the Confined Elderly, a multi-year program to provide occupational therapy to elderly residents confined to their homes.
