About the project
The Asian Bull elephant House, is a gift of Walter Haefner of Switzerland, complete with its own pool. A separate compound is essential for bull elephants as they experience a period called”musth”, It is during this time that the bull produces 40 -60 per cent more testosterone, making him unpredictable and possibly dangerous. Not many zoos go to so much trouble, so “Teddy” is fortunate indeed to have his own place!
