About the project

Teddy Park, located right beneath the Old City Walls opposite the Jaffa Gate, honors the Jerusalem Foundation’s founder and legendary Mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kollek.

The park is home to Israel’s first sound and light water fountain, the Hassenfeld Family Fountain, as well as numerous other features dedicated by donors: the Model Family Sun Dial; the Wilf Plaza; the Rapoport Garden Terrace; the Federmann Wishing Well; the Klabin Family Grove; the Walton Avenue Foundation Grove and Walton Avenue Flower Bed; Sharp Square and the Center of the World Sculpture; the Freedman-Leboff Families Reflection Area; Etel & Benjamin Wolf Gate, Gorman Shore Gate, Leir Gate, and Lou Edelstein Gate; the Crown Family Central Avenue and Waterway; the Sonshine Canadian Wall of Honor on the Azrieli Promenade, honoring Canadians who contributed to Teddy Park; and the Jerusalem Foundation Wall of Honor, honoring the nearly 200 donors who have made significant contributions to Jerusalem through the Jerusalem Foundation.

The park is also home to a historic building, dedicated by JNF Canada, and the Kenneth and Ann Bialkin Visitor’s Center, which is a testament to Teddy’s life and accomplishments and includes a map of all the Jerusalem Foundation projects since its creation and a multi-media center honoring Teddy.
