About the project

The Jerusalem Foundation has created several competitions at various times to encourage the beautification of Jerusalem’s public schools. The Mollie Parnis Competition for the Beautification of Jerusalem Schools was created in 1970 and the Fromer School Beautification Prize was established in 1985. Each year, several schools were awarded cash prizes for their cleanliness and decor. The competitions became activities integrated into the curricula of many schools, with the goal of instilling within students an awareness of their immediate environment, and the need to care for it.
