About the project

The Ted H. Greenberg Sports Center is located at the Adi Yaffe Community Center in Gilo. This center houses an indoor pool, a sports hall, a fitness room and an outdoor pool for toddlers. The sports center was dedicated on the 22nd May 1990 in the presence of the donor Teddy Kollek and other dignitaries. In 1998 the Toddlers pool was opened, and in the space under the pool a youth club was built . After landscaping the area around the toddlers pool, three benches were also added, Kathy Greenberg in Honor of her Husband, Vivian Olson in honor of Alan Greenberg, and Mrs Caleb Coeppel in honor of Kathy and Alan Greenberg.
The Toddlers pool is surrounded by lawns and shady umbrellas, and beneath the toddler pool is the youth club, called “Under Pool”,catering to 12-18 year olds, A place where they can listen to music, play games, involve themselves in young leadership groups or just to hang out, The special acoustic ceiling ensures that any noise they may make, will not bother any of the other activities going on above ground..
The Indoor pool holds a variety of exercise classes as well as water aerobics, and movement therapy for seniors. There are swimming lessons for all age groups, and synchronized swimming competitions for the more adventurous.
The gym is impressive, equipped with all manner of fitness machines, whether you want to walk the treadmill, lift weights, ride the exercise bikes, or just firm up, the gym has something for everyone. The center caters to all of the residents of Gilo whatever their age and is an important & integral part of the community’s activities
