About the project
The Konrad Adenauer Conference Center was created as part of a major renovation and expansion project at Mishkenot Shana’anim in 2001.The center is a venue for international encounters on art, music, literature, philosophy, religion and ethics. The center hosts conferences, festivals, seminars and workshops and serves as home to the International Dialogue Center and the Jerusalem Center for Ethics. The center features the Erich Brost Memorial Ethics Library, the Manheim Library, the Montefiore Restaurant, the Little House Meeting Room, the Fostel Seminar Room, the Dwek Gallery and the Gilbert de Bottom Auditorium. It is named for Konrad Adenauer, the first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, who, together with Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben Gurion, laid the foundation for a relationship between Germany and Israel following World War II.The center is part of a complex of Jerusalem Foundation-supported projects at Mishkenot Sha’ananim that also includes the Mishkenot Sha’ananim Cultural Center & Guest House, the Jerusalem Music Center and Djanogly Hall.
